Do Something Different…

Well, then I’m here to tell you that you need to ‘Do Something Different’!  I have recently been told the definition of Insanity is:

Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results!

Believe me, I know that doing something different is uncomfortable and that it can be scary.  Doing something different takes courage, in the presence of fear and doing it anyway.  Trust me, the sense of accomplishment and the results are amazing.  I’m here to help you make the changes you’ve been struggling with.  Tackling change on your own is daunting, doing it with others, however, is a lot easier!  And the good news is that you don’t have to do it alone.

I got into the fitness field, as my profession, in 1994 as a floor trainer at a local health club chain.  I thought working in a gym was cool.  I got a free membership to the club, I met a lot of people and quickly grew my clientele to a full schedule in no time.  Then in the spring of 1995 that all changed.  I was struck by an automobile, as a pedestrian, and my life would never be the same.  Thankfully, after many surgeries and months of rehab, I was back at work and ready to re-start my career as a personal fitness professional.  It was not without it’s struggles, I battled depression, weight gain and the fear that I would not be able to do the same things as before.

Well, I’m happy to say, that I feel I am a better, healthier and (dare I say) fitter person at 40 than I was at 24.  I realized my mission in life wasn’t just to help people ‘look better’ and get those six-pack abs but it was to improve the quality of their lives.  Through weight loss sometimes yes, but also through ‘moving better, and without pain’; teaching them how to eat healthier, and be more active with their families; reduce stress, and improve productivity.  All in all, to be happier!
